Curso em Wageningen (Holanda - 8 to 12 October 2012)

We would like to draw your attention to a new one-week advanced course
on atmospheric modeling to be held at Wageningen University (The
Netherlands) from 8 to 12 October 2012. The aim of this course is to
discuss the gap between micro- and mesoscale and to learn how to account
for processes that occur in between, i.e. the "terra incognita" regime.
The core of the lectures will be covered by four invited speakers:

Dr. Peter Sullivan (National Center for Atmospheric Research - NCAR)

Prof. Dr. Harm Jonker (Delft University of Technology - TU Delft)

Dr. Geert Lenderink (Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute - KNMI)

Dr. Roel Neggers (Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute - KNMI)

In addition, staff members from the Wageningen Meteorology and Air
Quality department will present examples of research in this particular
field.

This course is first and foremost intended for MSc and PhD students who
already have acquired a basic knowledge in atmospheric fluid dynamics,
but would like to widen their scope on atmospheric modeling at different
scales. To cover all the costs we ask for a registration fee of 150
Euros (see website for exemptions) and after successful completion of
the course, the student will earn 3 ECTS credits. We hope that you can
circulate this emailto possibly interested parties in your
group/department.

More detailed information can be found on the course website:

The organizing committee:
